You can listen to full tracks of music I like at my website...2nd post down entitled "MP3's"...leave a comment and tell me what you think.
aa1611.blogspot.com/
Just click on the "open audio" link below each song title to hear or download the track. (These songs are from a CD that I played the drums tracks on)
I like other styles of music as well...I have studied most genres and there is something intriguing about each one. Unfortunately, rap doesn't offer much in the percussion area unless you happen to be a drum machine
I prefer rock !

the sort of stuff i listen to isn't really included in the pole. i like complicated music. music that is usually made of unusual sounds therefore forced to be organized and melodic. beats and whatnot. the crystal method, daft punk, fat boy slim, goldfrapp, amon tobin.... besides that the only other songs i really find myself enjoying are old school, like really old school, good times music. like 50 and 60 doo wop stuff. or like really old rock beatles era about that.
someone once asked me what sort of music i liked, and without thinking about it i spit out what i now consider a pretty accurate answer.
"i like anything thats not formulaic. which excludes me from enjoying allot of rock, most rap, and nearly all country."

well this is one of my favorite subjects ;D question tho' why isn't there an all music styles vote? I really can't narrow down what type of music I like. This is mainly due to the fact that I've been playing guitar for the past 35 years. Rap would be my least favorite and metal at the top. I mainly like instrumental music from Kitaro, Via, Satriani, Trower and Malmsteen to name a few.

Well I like lots of stuff, except country.
I love alternative such as Nirvana, everclear, Counting Crows, Bare Naked Ladies, and most of all Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love these old alternative bands because it was the bands I listened to early in life and their songs have emotional meaning.
I also love rock/metal, not sure really what categories these fall into but they are: Korn, Disturbed, Papa Roach, System of a Down, Tool, and Linkin Park.
And lastly I love techno/Dance. I don't know any artist by name, but I love the theme song from Night at the Roxbury.

I have to pretty much agree with Kyle on this. I grew up listening to 80's-90's rock such as Def Leopard, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Megadeath, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Ozzy, etc... Although over time I have tended to listen to rap and rock depending on my mood mainly because of the High School I was forced to go. I was about 1 of the 10 white kids at my school so you get the idea.
I also enjoy listening to techno mostly on the weekends when I'm street racing. Something I kind of grew on to while i was 17-18. Some other bands I enjoy listening to are Rob Zombie and Ramstein. Hellbilly Deluxe was my all time favorite from Rob Zombie. I basically like all types of music except Country, which seems very depressing to me so I'd rather not listen to it, although I do listen to some country music, more of the old stuff such as Hank Williams Sr and Jr. I'm one of those all around guys all depending on my mood
