ugs its obvious that you know alot about the bible, and if you choose to spend your time doing that, then i have no reason to say you shouldnt.
but i would like you to hear my opinion on this. so here goes..
inter was saying how it would be nearly impossible(if not completely impossible) for it to work, but yet you seem like no matter what you says anyway against the bible you will not even consider it.
i dont hate ppl that believe in g0d and i dont hate ppl who dont. i just hate ppl who are too far either way.. overly zealous ppl scare me, to be honest.
now, believe it or not, the flood "could" have happened. there was a scientific study that said polar icecaps melted around the time the story was thought to be written. it could easily be confused for "an act of god".
now, about the boat, lets be real.. they did not have the technology to build such a boat, who knows, maybe some guy had a wooden boat and put some of his livestock on it when there was a large flood.. stories skew in time, as does most things.
the bible is almost as believable as harry potter..
hell in 1000 years someone might find a harry potter book and think dumbledore is the real g0d.

Izz,
Wow, I guess you made it clear on how you view people. I still don't understand how you can hate someone because of what they believe. lol...your statement made his slanderous remarks sound quite innocent You might want review what he wrote above. His statement regarding the realism of Noah's ark was based on what evidence? He used blind logic without knowing any facts on the subject.Actually, I did consider what he said... I just believe the bible. (find out more at www.aa1611.blogspot.com As far as scientific evidence of the flood, there is also a theory that a large meteor hit the Earth just off the coast line of South America and set the waters that are beneath the Earth's crust gushing upward thus flooding the Earth's surface along with an incredible storm.
There is also present day physical evidence of the ark on the mountains of Ararat, which happens to be exactly where Gen 8:4 said it would be. Physical evidence includes an actual board of Gopher wood, not indigenous to the area, that has been taken from the site and dated back to approx. 2400 B.C. Other evidence includes videos and still photos, not to mention interviews of people who have frequented the site, one such man was actually lowered into the ark when he was just a boy. No technology? there were 6 billion people on the earth at the time of the flood (which is approx. the same population as today) and no one could figure out how to build a boat with the plans laid before them ? They may not have had microchips but they were definately an advanced society. Years later, at the time of the Egyptian rule and the building of the great pyramids the global population was even less. But somehow, scientists today are baffled at the precise astronomical alignment of the pyramids. The same scientific amazement is awarded to Stonehenge as well...not only is it perfectly placed on the earth (longitude/latitue) but its alignment with the sun, moon, and stars can predict nearly every solar and lunar eclipse, summer and winter solstice, etc. It also is a perfectly functioning calandar that even accounts for leap year and Y2K. (you must study these two topics to appreciate the gravity of them).

pretty sure that if there was hardcore evidence that the ark did infact exist it would be well known. there are satelite pictures of something on the mountain, but no one knows what it is. funny that no one has climbed the mountain or flew up it to get an actual up close photo. it does not matter how dangerous or impossible it would be to climb the mountain, some religous fanatic or group would risk life and limb to recieve evidence that their life lived in blind faith has been justified.
it's also funny how no one knows what gopher wood is, and yet they have dated it. the most popular theory is that it was cyprus, but that is a theory along with everything else with the bible. just give it a few years. religion just makes up for what science has yet to discover.

Inter,
hmmm....you've only seen the satellite images? As I stated previously, there are actual camera photos and hand held videos of the brobdingnagian structure. Keep lookin'.
Some other cool things: there was also some iron recovered from the site...a hinge and some nails. A small iron cage of some sort was discovered as well but was not taken from the site.
As far as the gopher wood...I feel the confusion as well. Since the word "gopher" is unknown outside the Hebrew language, some people have connected it with "gophrith" meaning brimstone or pitch. While others have connected it with "kopher", also meaning pitch. Either way the probability can be reached that it is a form of resinous wood such as pine, cedar, or cyprus.
It may be the name given to a wood after it is treated...kind of like when we say "CCA" (modern treated lumber resistant to rot and insects). Today an Arab connects the word gopher to the the Arab word "kufa" which is a form of treated wood from which wooden boats are made.

maybe you didnt think of this ugs, but there is nothing stopping someone from placing the wreckage to make it look like it was the ark.
now im sure you will shoot that down, but if ppl can get to it to take pictures, and actually touch it.. then its possible for it to be placed there by humans also.
oh and i know you say you believe in the bible, and i know you will just say things like "have faith".. and according to the bible we go to hell if we do not worship the lord.. so tell me this, everyone who was born into a different religion, even ppl who have never heard of your g0d go to hell? ignorance is definetly not bliss, eh?

but what you said is completely false then. if they phyically have collected samples of "gopher wood" there would be absolutely no debate as to what kind of wood this actually is. you are clearly a very inteligent person, but what are you basing your evidence off of? i don't consider myself an expert in this field at all, but from what i have read there is NOT A SHRED of stone-cold evidence supporting the ark. in fact, the ark and the noah's story in general seem to have many similarities to the sumerian myth, which originated pre-noah time. almost everything in the christian religion is based upon something from another religion, or culture.
if there are picture proven to be authentic circulating the internet, please give a link to them.

Yeah you would think ! Maybe the samples were really deteriorated or maybe that species of tree doesn't exist anymore...kind of like the many animals that have gone extinct. For some reason they have difficulties making an exact identifiable match to a tree alive today. It doesn't mean it didn't exist...especially since we have a piece of it...quite to the contrary then, it obviously did exist.
